Introduction
sapium sapium sebiferum (L.)Roxb, also known as sapium tree, wax tree and wood oil tree. Euphorbiaceae deciduous tree Euphorbiaceae Sapium, a subtropical tree species, is one of the four major woody oil plants (tallow, tung oil, Camellia oleifera and walnut). There are two kinds of Huber oil extracted from its seeds, one is the waxy oil that exists in the shell of the tallow seed, referred to as the tallow skin oil or tallow fat, and the other is the liquid oil that exists in the shell of the seed, referred to as the tallow seed oil or tallow oil.
Studies have shown that α-linolenic acid has the physiological effects of preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, lowering blood lipids, lowering blood pressure, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and enhancing intelligence.
Main Ingredients
sapium sapium oil is mainly composed of unsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acid glycerides, of which unsaturated fatty acids are 89.13% and polyunsaturated fatty acids account for 70.50%. The contents of α-linolenic acid and linoleic acid in polyunsaturated fatty acids are the highest, with the contents of 39.30% and 30.77% respectively.
Efficacy and role
Catalpa oil is a natural vegetable oil extracted from the seed kernels of tallow seeds (commonly known as Muzi). It is a semi-dry transparent liquid oil with a light yellow or golden yellow appearance. It has the advantages of fast drying, good gloss, and strong adhesion. It is a natural and environmentally friendly raw material for the production of anti-corrosion paint, electrophoretic paint, insulating materials, inks, lubricants, coatings, and automotive and, catalpa oil can be used instead of linseed oil, and its nitro resistance is obviously better than linseed oil. The main components are glycerides of oleic acid, linoleic acid, and linolenic acid, and contain a small amount of glycerides of 2, 4-decadienoic acid and palmitic acid.
application areas
(1) biodiesel from sapium sebiferum oil
Chinese tallow is a very good biomass. due to the high oil content of seeds, it is listed as one of the four major woody oil species in China. Its oil source is rich, which can not only provide edible oil source, industrial oil source, but also be used as power oil source. It is an inexhaustible renewable oil source.
(2) cocoa butter made from tallow seed oil
Cocoa butter (CB) is the main raw material for chocolate production. The output of CB is limited, which cannot meet the needs of the chocolate industry, and cocoa butter is expensive [22]. For this reason, the development of cocoa butter (CB), a high-grade substitute for cocoa butter, has become a research hotspot for oil workers in various countries.
(3) for advanced paint
As a kind of drying oil, the unsaturated property of the oil is reflected in the high iodine value, and its drying speed is faster than that of sesame oil, but it does not have the disadvantage of easy wrinkling of tung oil. Catalpa oil as raw material development of phthalic anhydride pentaerythritol urethane oil, is a new variety of urethane oil. This urethane oil can be used to prepare universal and aroma enamel for coating aluminum alloy, steel, polystyrene plastic and wood surface. The paint is light in color, not easy to yellen, and combined with tung oil can overcome the frosting property of tung oil.
(4) as lubricant
One of the most promising uses of catalpa oil is for the production of lubricants, especially synthetic lubricants. The oleic acid of Chinese tallow and saturated or unsaturated alcohol form ester sulfide, and its extreme pressure lubricating oil performance is similar to that of vulcanized cetyl wax oil.
extraction process
because the seed kernel of sapium sebiferum is relatively hard and tight, when the hulled sapium sebiferum seeds are leached, the catalpa oil in the seed kernel will not be extracted. For this reason, the whole seed is directly leached to produce skin oil after steaming and frying, and the pure seed after extracting skin oil is pre-squeezed and leached to produce seed oil to ensure the quality.
